Micromax + Cyanogen = Micromax Yureka: Features, Tech Specs and Price Details

Micromax Yureka is being promoted with a tagline that says âYU play godâ. The reason why Micromax is saying this is because users will be able to modify icons, fonts, boot screen animation, taps, and more. The company shall also leave the bootloader unlocked so that users can root the phone anytime they want. Normally smartphone makers do not honour warranty requests once you have rooted the phone but Micromax says that it shall provide free doorstep repair service during the warranty period. Looks like Micromax is taking some steps to rectify its woeful service network.
Micromax Yureka boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM 8939) chipset that houses a 64bit 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor, a 550MHz Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and most importantly LTE connectivity. Micromax Yureka is a Dual-SIM smartphone, one of its SIM slots shall support a 4G SIM and the other a 3G Micro SIM. The Micromax Yureka sports a 5.5 inch IPS panel display with a HD (1280 x 720) resolution and offers pixels per inch figure of 267ppi. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with oleophobic coating to get rid of the pesky fingerprint smudges.
In terms of photography, Micromax has gone all out and given the Yureka a 13MP rear camera featuring 5P Largan Blue Lens Architecture and a Sony IMX135 CMOS sensor and LED flash. On the front we find an above average 5MP sensor. Micromax Yureka has an internal memory of 16GB and a 32 GB microSD card slot (size unspecified #-Link-Snipped-#). The phone is powered by a 2500mAh battery that has been tweaked to offer 8 hours of talk time, 7 hours internet browsing time and 210 hours of standby. Connectivity features have not been listed on the page but we presume Micromax has not skipped on the usual.
While the Micromax Yureka looks like a flagship-killer smartphone on paper, will it manage to overthrow the reigning kings with its performance? We have to wait until next month. You however are free to post your comments right now in the comment section.
Update: We can now confirm that the microSD card slot can gobble up cards of up to 32GB. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro USB with GPS navigation. Sensor list includes G-sensor, proximity, light sensor and gyrosphere. Out of the 16GB of storage you get 12.5 GB space free for storage and apps.
