Hold your breath as India's over crowded Android smartphone market gets a new entrant in the Rs. 6999 segment. This time around it's Micromax who is ready with its ammunition to compete against Asus Zenfone and Xiaomi Redmi. The company has declared war with the launch of Micromax Canvas Fire A104 smartphone. We decided to take a look at the features highlighted by the company and found that the Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS running phone boasts of Dual Front speakers and a 1.3 GHz Quad Core MT6582M processor. Let's take a look at the other tech specs and find out if the phone's a worthy opponent to the other phones in its segment.

The Micromax Canvas Fire is powered by a 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM (expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD) and features a 11.43cm (4.5) FWVGA screen with a 854x480 pixels resolution display. Compatibility to voice search means that the command "Okay Google" will let you use your voice to browse. A 5 megapixel rear AF camera (resolution: 2560x1920 pixel) and a 0.3 megapixel front camera lets users capture their favourite moments and later play them in HD. The Canvas Fire A104 is a Dual SIM (micro + normal) phone available in three colors - Black & Gold, White & Gold or White & Silver. Coming to the connectivity, the phone offers support for GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Last on the specs list but not the least is the 1900 mAh battery which offers a standby time of 180 hours and talk time of 6 hours if the company claims are to be believed. With that, we come to the end of the entire tech specs list and wonder if they are strong enough to really have the potential to compete the other giant holders in the market. The Xiaomi and Asus phones have better rear cameras, better screens and even better processors, for the same price option.

Priced at Rs. 6,999, the Micromax Canvas HD A104 should soon be available for buying online in India. What are your thoughts on the phone? Share with us in comments below.
