Microsoft had offered the deal last month; however the acquisition was completed within last week only. Per me its not even two days when Yammer has started notifying that 'Yammer is now Microsoft'

Why is Microsoft trying to build out of Yammer? What does their step into social industry mean?
In order to have a truly collaborative platform, a tool like Yammer can enable collaboration and conversation. But can it be facebook for offices? Or something else?

It's 'enterprise' social network - meaning it won't be open to general public. Typically used by virtual teams (like our VoiCE). Lot of corporates are already adopting the 'FB' style of networking for employees within the organization.

Yammer has lot of useful features for the teams to collaborate, including apps for mobile devices. Makes it damn easy for teams to keep track of tasks and post real time updates.
