The wait is over! There have been a lot of talks about quad core smartphones for a long time and Meizu is the one to take the lead. They are ready with the first quad core Android phone which is scheduled to release in June this year. The phone uses Samsung’s Exynos A9 chip which provides boost to processor performance.

The new Exynos chip is based on 32 nm HKMG technology which reduces the processor’s power consumption by 20 percent. This quad core ship provides 60 percent faster CPU and 50 percent faster GPU than the previous dual core Meizu MX. In other features, the phone has a vivid 292 PPI high definition 960*640 ASV display. It has an 8 mega pixel camera at the back. The phone will be powered by Flyme OS, Meizu’s own customized version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Meizu claims the OS will provide beauty, simplicity and buttery smooth performance at every user interaction. The quad core version of Meizu MX will have 1700 mAh battery as compared to the dual core version which had 1600 mAh battery. Users will also have choice to choose back covers among five colors, in addition to original white.

Meizu MX dual core didn’t have a MicroSD slot. The problem is still there with this version too, but the current model will start at 32 GB and goes up to 64 GB. So, you don’t need to worry about storage. The phone will be available in June this year. The price for the product is set at 2,999 yuan (US$ 480) for 32 GB model and 3,999 yuan (US$ 530) for 64 GB model. Unfortunately, Meizu is launching the phone in China only, but we hope Meizu MX quad core will be launched internationally soon.
