MEGA, the app that was launched this summer on Android is now on iOS. The secure cloud storage service that the MEGA app provides comes as a follow-up after the online file hosting and viewing service provided by Kim Dotcom’s megaupload.com was closed down. Those of you who love to have their content stored on cloud using their mobile devices, MEGA can be a great app. We still don't see any news about the Windows phone app, but we can expect that to roll out in the near future. MEGA is offering up to 50 GB of free storage space and 1000 GB of bandwidth per month with the app downloads. The subscription costs are US $10.99 per month and US $119.99 per year. So now you have the services like Google Drive, Dropbox or SkyDrive right in the comfort of your smartphone.

To manage your subscriptions from the iOS App, you’ll need to use your Apple ID with Manage App Subscriptions to toggle automatic and manual payment options. The app gives the same features as the Android version. The MEGA app service brings in the ability of fast file transfers that allow users to preview and stream supported files from their account. It is also possible to send file and folder links directly within the app. The Mega app for iOS is of the 3.5 MB size and it is compatible with any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 6 and later versions of the OS.



We all netizens are aware that the Megaupload website as taken down because its users were allegedly found sharing and downloading pirated movies, music and so on. With MEGA app, the terms and conditions clearly state that - "You may not upload, download, store, share, display, stream, distribute, e-mail, link to, transmit or otherwise make available any files, data, or content that infringes any copyright or other proprietary rights of any person or entity."
