M.Tech / M.E. Entrance Exams Other Than GATE
If you've appeared for the GATE examination this year, but aren't too hopeful about the GATE score, do not lose heart. There are plenty of examinations other than GATE that can be taken to pursue M.Tech from a reputed university or college. I thought of building a list of colleges and their respective exams that can be taken by students looking for M.Tech admissions.
Following are some of the popular alternative exams:
1. CCMT 2015 (Conducted by NIT Kurukshetra)
You need a valid GATE score to apply to CCMT 2015. So no matter what your score is, you can apply for this exam.
2. BITS Admissions (M.E. from BITS Pilani,Goa,)
Eligibility for Admissions: A Minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying degree examination for All Programmes.
PS: The last date for applying to the Higher degree programs is 20th May 2014.
3. PGEE 2015 (Conducted for IIIT Hyderabad)

OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Exam 2015)
The application form is already out. Form D is for M. Tech./ M. Pharm./ M. Arch.
After submitting details, Computer Generates a Registration Number. Note down the Registration Number for future Reference. Fill application form online

I found out about another valuable course.
BARC conducts: Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post Graduates (OCES). Anyone who scores a minimum of 50% aggregate marks on completion of the Training Program is declared to have passed the course successfully.
Successful candidates are posted as Scientific Officer ‘C’ in one of the DAE units.
Another course they offer is called: DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS)
DGFS was initiated for inducting engineers at M.Tech./M.Chem.Engg. level in collaboration with eight IITs viz. Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, BHU-Varanasi and also NIT-Rourkela and ICT-Mumbai.
The project work is carried out under the supervision of two guides, one from IIT and the other from DAE.
Note: OCES TSOs as well as DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month
Selection to OCES/DGFS-2015 is a 2-step process:
Screening to short-list candidates followed by
Selection Interviews of the short-listed candidates.
There is a separate selection process for each of the Eligible disciplines. Screening for Selection Interviews based on two alternative methods:
(a) Online Test: It will be conducted in all of the eight eligible Engineering disciplines and in the five eligible Science disciplines.
(b) GATE Score: Candidates will be screened in for Selection Interview on the basis of a valid GATE-2014 or GATE-2015 Score. -
