Nathan Linder of MIT Media Lab has developed LuminAR - a system that replaces your regular light bulb with a much advanced and complicated system that turns any surface into interactive touch screen. The system projects interactive images on the surface and is capable of detecting when a person's finger touches the objects inside the projected images. Linder calls it an Augmented Reality system.

LuminAR system comprises of a camera, a projector and software to recognize objects within projected images. The system connects to software installed on remote cloud server through Wi-Fi to recognize virtual objects. Linder and his team is quite excited about the project and believe that it can be used in very innovative ways by engineers and designers. One of the demonstration shows electronic products laid on the table and the LuminAR system projecting the prices of each of the product next to them.
