Logitech and Skype have worked together to launch Logitech TV Cam HD, the high-definition television camera that lets you make Skype calls without the use of any extra software or computer on your HDTV from the comfort of your living room. It can be connected to any HDTV with the help of HDMI input. In order to connect to the internet, you can either use Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity. The user has to use the remote controller that comes bundled with the device to login to his account and follow a few simple steps to start making calls to Skype users across various platforms via web, smart phones, tablets and HDTVs. Not only video calls, but users can also make voice calls to landline and mobile if they have the necessary subscription or enough Skype credit.

The wide angle lens developed by Carl Zeiss can cover the whole family in its wide frame and it makes use of Logitech Fluid Crystal Technology to provide sharper clearer videos. The four microphones built in ensure reduced noise and echoes, while the built-in ringer lets you know that you have a call even if the TV is switched off. This camera will be available from August and September in USA and Europe at a price of $199.99.
