load transfer from foundation to soil strata

illustrate in detail with sketches how is the load from an entire structure transferred from the foundation to the soil stata underneath the foundation?

    This gives you basic info with some sketches on how load is safely distributed from the foundation footing to the soil. The actual transfer angle depends a lot on the type of soil and the safe bearing load capacity for that soil at various times.
