LIVR Social App Lets You Sign-In Only When You Are Drunk
Mobile developers in Brooklynn, NY, Kyle Addison and Avery Platz have come up with a social networking app called LIVR. However, far from being a typical, run-off-the-mill social networking app, LIVR lets you sign in only if you are drunk. Surprised, right?
This app will be released sometime during this year's spring. LIVR guarantees to be a "24X7 online party". It needs a breathanalyzer connected to a smartphone to test how much drunk a user is. Depending on the users B.A.C (Blood Alcohol Content), the app unlocks its features proportionately. That is, more drunk a user is, more are the features of LIVR accessible to him/her. Once the user has logged in, he is connected to other drunk users in the area. LIVR aims to be "Just a global network of similarly buzzed people looking to have a good time."
LIVR also geotags other users in 'hot-spot' maps to let one know where the best party is and how buzzed the other users are. The developers claim that this makes bar hopping much more efficient, easier and more fun. This app also doubles up as a 'drinking games platform'. These include a crowdsourced 'Truth or Dare', where points are scored based on participation. Another feature called 'Drunk Dial' lets one tipsy person call a random, buzzed LIVR user in the area.
However, what the developers claim to be the most stand-out feature of the app is the 'Blackout' button which completely erases last night's records, such as photos, videos, etc. This way, the drunk antics of a user are known to LIVR only, and no one else.
The inspiration for this came from the fact that almost everyone today uses social networking websites where one cannot post inebriated pics of oneself having a good time, the developers said. Kyle Addison further added that people are always trying to put their best face forward on social media websites and try to project themselves as perfect. LIVR allows them to show what they are, along with caring for their privacy, Addison further added.
Platz and Addison both are now looking for investors to fund their project to launch their app on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
