The document foundation has released LibreOfficre version 4.0 today. The new version is supposed to carry a cleaner code base. LibreOffice 4.0 is ready to surprise open source lovers with a lot of new features and increased inter-operability.
LibreOffice, since its launch in 2010, has been a good open source alternative to Microsoft Office after OpenOffice. In the new version, document foundation has focused majorly on cleaning up the code. Millions of lines of code has been removed and added, along with translation of comments from German to English. A lot of bugs along with deprecated methods and obsoleted libraries have been removed. The inter-operability with several document management system has been included. You can also import Microsoft Publisher documents along with Visio filters.

One interesting thing about the new version is the Android App, that allows the users to control the presentation using their smartphones. There are a lot of API changes too to attract developers. Though personally I am an OpenOffice lover, but this version is just too tempting! Download it #-Link-Snipped-# and try for yourself!
