  • LG, the Korean multinational has today unveiled its new flagship smartphone - The LG Vu 3. Keeping on with the LG Optimus Vu legacy, the new Vu 3 features a 4:3 aspect ratio on its 5.2 inch display which would look rather unusual to see and hold. Like the LG G2, LG Vu 3 drops the word Optimus from its name. Marking it as one of its premium products the LG Vu 3 tech specs pack a lot of exciting new features. The 5.2 inch display comes with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and while maintaining the same length and width of the bezel the phone is overall 0.2 inches larger than the previous product.

Powered by a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, the LG Vu 3 features 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. Coming with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, LG has also packed a Rubberdium stylus with the phone, along with host of software features to put it to good use. The phone sports LTE-A radios and the company has launched QuickView case with translucent material that allows to peep at the screen without having to open the case.

The phone is going to be a part of discussions mostly for its unusual shape and will be known for carrying the game "Is it a phone? - Is it a tablet?" a bit forward. Lastly, there's a 2610mAh battery powering this smartphone and a 480MHz Adreno 330 graphics processor. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, AGPS and Micro-USB and the device comes with dimensions 132.1x85.6x9.4mm and weighs 161 grams.

The phone will be launched in three colour variants - Indigo Black, Mint and White, as you can see from the image above. There's no official word about the pricing or availabilty of the phone in Korea or elsewhere in the Korean press release. Earlier this month, a Korean report noted that the South Korean major would officially announce the LG Vu 3 at the end of September while the device will be released in October. So, we can bank a little on that. Till we get our hands on the official information, stay tuned.
