The South Korean electronics giant has launched a Windows 8.1-based tablet, Tab Book Duo in its home town at 740,000 KRW (INR 42,400). Since its entry into the tablet market, LG has been switching from Windows to Android and now it is back with Windows again. Unfortunately, the availability of the tablet in other parts is not yet known. One of the striking and defining features about the tablet is that it weighs 530g (if you leave the keyboard out), which is equivalent to that of a mineral water bottle.
On the lines of other tablets in its portfolio, this one from LG will also come with a detachable keyboard that facilitates the customers to use it just like any other laptop. It is equipped with a âquick-standâ on the rear and is convenient to be used according to the desired angle without the need of separate stand.
LG has not revealed much about the device, apart from the information that it is powered by a quad-core Intel chip, runs on Windows 8.1 OS, flaunts a 10.1-inch IPS LCD screen, has a USB 3.0 as well as micro HDMI port and battery is said to last 11 hours on a full charge. Further, the company is giving away a free Microsoft wireless mouse to the customers who buy the tablet before 22 December. The tablet and keyboard are available in white and black colours.
All being said, the high-end tablet will compete with Microsoft Surface and other iOS and Android tablets. Let us know your views on this new tablet from LG. Share with us in comments.
