LG G FLex 2 Release Happens At CES 2015 - Specifications, Features & More Revealed
CES 2015 is finally on its way and LG took the stage to announce 7 new 4K OLED TVs and unveil #-Link-Snipped-#, but the best and what seems to be the most innovative product which LG unveiled was its new smartphone - LG G Flex 2. The smartphone will be available at the end of January in Korea and then gradually rolled out in the global markets. The LG G Flex 2 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0GHz 64 bit CPUs.
This single SIM smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD curved p-OLED display with a 1080x1920 resolution and a 403ppi pixel density. The curved display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which makes it almost impossible to crack this phone. LG has designed this device very cleverly as the curved display, having a 700mm radius curvature, brings the microphone closer to mouth so as to pickup better sound from the user.
On the camera front, G Flex 2 sports a 13 MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), dual-LED Flash, and laser guided autofocus and a 2.1 MP front facing camera. It also features a 3000mAh battery which, LG say, can charge up to 50 percent in 40 minutes. Connectivity options on the LG G Flex 2 include 4G LTE-A with tri-band carrier aggregation, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB 2.0. The device measures in at 149.1x75.3x7.1 - 9.4mm, and weighs 152 grams.
The other features include things like a simple hand 'Gesture Shot' recognisable from up to 1.5 metres away; 'Gesture View' to check last clicked shot; 'Glance View' to swipe down for notifications even when the screen is off.
The G Flex 2 will come in 16GB (2GB of RAM) and 32GB (3GB of RAM) storage variants that are expandable via micro SD card and will initially be available in two colours: Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red.
