LG Cloud - Streaming Service Launch On May 01
How could the electronics giant LG remain behind in the race for the cloud? The company promised that they will launch the 'LG Cloud' service, that will let you upload your content to it and then make it available across your devices: smartphone, computer and set top boxes.
LG's LG Cloud Android app will make the magic happen. Though Android App has been developed, there's no word from LG about the possibility of launching an iOS app. The 'LG Cloud' service will be available in both free and paid versions. It's likely that the pricing plans will be different for different markets. There's no information available on the pricing of the service yet.
Though it's a good news for LG users, we're not excited. Cloud is already getting boring (debate?) with so many players jumping into it. Google recently forayed into the Cloud Storage market with the launch of Google Drive and competing with Box.net and global leader Dropbox. While 2-5Gb of free storage is going to be more than enough for most of the users, most of the players are banking on the 'overall service' and integration with already existing services. It's going to be difficult for LG to attract customers to the LG Cloud service. But that's just my opinion though.
