LG 5", 1080p, 440ppi LCD Display Is World's First AH-IPS

When it comes to super cool displays, the two companies occupy our minds: #-Link-Snipped-#, with their Retina Display on the new iPhone and iPad and the #-Link-Snipped-# - with their vibrant #-Link-Snipped-# HD displays. But #-Link-Snipped-# engineers were silently working on developing world's first First Full HD LCD Smartphone Panel that boasts of 5" of real estate with 440ppi (pixels per inch) density and full HD (1080p). Of course that's no match to Toshiba's 489ppi, 6" display; but LG's screen is going to be ideal choice for the 'phablet' type of devices.

The display has been designed for high definition content and features 16:9 aspect ratio. The technology behind this new display is a varient of IPS technology called Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching aka AH-IPS. You may expect these displays to be available by the year end. All we say is good going, LG. Great to see you in the race.
