It seems Cyanogen OS is not Micromax & Cyanogen Deal In India Proves To Be A Bitter Pill For OnePlus Customers to Micromax-owned YU Televentures in India after all. Lenovo has launched the world’s first crowd-sourced smartphone, the ZUK Z1 in India. It is the first smartphone from the company to be powered by Cyanogen OS 12.1 which is based on Andriod 5.1.1 (Lollipop). The Lenovo ZUK Z1 will be sold exclusively on Amazon India with the help of flash sales. The first flash sale shall be held on the 19th of May and the registrations for the same shall begin from today at 1pm. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has been priced at Rs. 13,499 and will be sold in Dark Grey colour variant.

The Lenovo ZUK Z1 sports a 5.5inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution display which has a pixels per inch figure of 401. While the display is not coated with any protective glass, the company has implemented a fingerprint proof coating and a display polarizer coating on the 450nits bright display of the Lenovo ZUK Z1. While most Lenovo smartphone have the fingerprint sensor on the rear, on the ZUK Z1 we have the Touch ID sensor on the home button. Underneath the hood, we find a very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset that houses a 2.5GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Since the Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a massive 64GB of internal memory you are not given the option of using a microSD card for expanding that storage. For the cameras on the Lenovo ZUK Z1, the company has sought help from Sony and added a 13MP Exmor RS stack senor with double LED flash on the rear and an 8MP sensor on the front. The dual SIM enabled 4G smartphone is powered by a user non removable 4100mAh battery that is claimed to offer 526 hours of standby and 38 hours of talk time. The battery is charged completely within 2.5 hours and using USB OTG you can also charge other smartphones using the Lenovo ZUK Z1.

Connectivity options on the Lenovo ZUK Z1 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and microUSB. The sensor list includes three-axis gyro, digital compass, accelerometer, proximity, hall and ambient light sensor. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a metal rear that transitions into the glass with help of smooth edges. The back has a gentle arch which makes it easier to grasp the smartphone. The smartphone seems like a pretty good deal for Rs. 13,499.
