LAVA A9 Dual SIM Mobile Reviews & Price In India

The NOIDA based Lava mobile is heavily advertising the A9 Model on Indian Television. Let's take a look at this phone an find out whether the phone is worth the price for the features it offers.

Design:


On the first look, yes the mobile is sleek looking phone with a metallic body. The phone is available in red and silver colors and looks stunning. The big screen adds to the looks. This phone is a 'bar' phone (no slider, flip) and fits in your pocket nicely.

Screen:
This phone has 2.4 Inches TFT ( Thin Film Transistor) screen that displays 262K colour at a resolution of 240x320 Pixels. The colors are bright and vivid while watching photos or videos.

3.2 MP Digital Camera
Well, in a world where 5MP camera is becoming a norm, this phone has 3.2 MP camera. Now you shouldn't expect high quality photos/videos but it's just enough to get the job done. There is no option for high definition video recording. So if you are looking for a phone that captures great quality videos and photos, this phone will disappoint you a bit.

Powerful Li-ion 900 mAh ( Li -Ion) the light weight & long lasting battery
Well, the Rivals of this phone are boasting 2500 mAh battery, so I'm not very much impressed by the battery of this phone which is 900 mAh. This battery, will last for about 2-3 days depending upon your usage.

FM Radio
This phone has FM radio that works when you connect headset to it. Of course there is an option to record directly to the microSD card.

Extended Memory:
This phone gives you an option to add memory card (microSD) up to 8GB. Well, the good news is that you get a 2GB microSD card free with this phone.

Dual SIM (GSM+GSM)
This phone gives you an option to have two GSM SIM cards. Well I'd have been happier if this phone had an option to add CDMA SIM.

Opera Browser:
The major attraction this phone has is the Opera Mini Browser that comes preinstalled with this phone. Opera mini is the preferred web browser on Mobile which supports faster browsing and many easy to use features.

Bluetooth & EDGE:
This phone has Bluetooth 2.1 and EDGE support. With bluetooth, you can connect to any bluetooth enabled device. EDGE gives you faster browsing speeds on the Internet. Yes, you might have to pay for the data charges while using EDGE on your mobile.

Other Features:
This phone lets you store up to 2000 contacts and also backup them. Well that's a huge phone book for an average user. This phone supports JAVA so that you can install your favorite Java applications. The phone comes preloaded with NIMBUZZ Application to help you with social networking sites like twitter, facebook and also chat with your mobile friends.

Price & Verdict: This phone is available in the market for Rs. 3999/-. For the price, this phone offers very good set of features minus the camera & battery. This device would have been very attractive with a 5MP camera OR a bigger battery. However, if you are tight on budget and want a sleek looking phone, this phone is worth the price.
