  • With this device you can behold on to the solar power wherever you go. Your electronic devices could be charged from the free, clean solar energy. The solar panel called as 'Kuaray' derives its name from the Guarani language's word for the Sun. This solar charger is designed by Ruben Freire and it is unique because of its use of PowerPlastic panel and a Li-ion battery. Power Plastic is an organic light activated material developed by Konarka, whereas the Li-ion batteries are used because they are much lighter than most equivalent batteries. Moreover, these batteries wont self-discharge, contain relatively few toxic metals and are fairly simple to recycle.

The Kuaray, which is a portable transducer of solar energy features organic particles that absorb light Lithuim ions, wasted soda cans and corn for sustainable autonomy. What's amazing is that its solar panel can be stretched under sunlight and also fixed to any glass window with the use of suction cups.

All plastic parts used in Kuaray are biodegradable, the aluminum structure is fully recyclable and the Li-ion battery can be refurbished. There is no word about the pricing or the availability as of now, but we would like to read your opinion about this new device.
