Kogan Agora Chromium Laptop Ships Tomorrow

Kogan Agora - the world's first Google Chromium operating system powered laptop is all set to make an entry. Australian manufacturer, Kogan will begin shipping the laptop in Australia and UK starting June 7. The laptop is priced at AUD349 or £269. With this release, Kogan has taken a lead over laptop manufacturing biggies like Samsung and Acer in shipping the Chrome OS based machines for general public. The USP of Agora is going to be the fast load time. Company claims that the laptop boots in under 5 seconds and resumes instantly from sleep mode.

Kogan Agora Laptop - Chromium Power!

Kogan Agora stores all its apps, files, documents and system settings in cloud. Which means, you don't have to worry about losing your data and information. Even if you lose your laptop - you'll only lose the hardware. You can simply login to your account through any other Agora laptop and resume your work normally. Looking at the tech-specs, Agora isn't a high-end machine. It uses 1.3GHz Celeron M ULV (ultra-low voltage) CPU to perform basic calculations and operations while 1GB of DDR2 RAM (upgradable to 4GB) provides enough memory for the system to work. Intel GS40 chipset (GMA 4500MHD) along with 256MB shared memory takes care of the graphics and capable of handling 720p, 1080v videos. Agora features 30 GB of SSD storage, 3 USB ports for enough connectivity with peripheral devices and an HDMI port so that you can connect Agora to any bigger hi-definition screen. There's a memory card reader and 1.3 MP front facing camera which enables you to make video calls and participate in video conferences. It also has 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi so that you remain connected at Airports and offices. The major disappointment comes from the poor battery - 4600mAh, 4 cell which last for about 3.5 hours on regular usage.

Agora Chromium Laptop will solve all your business communications need - but remember that it can't perform complex tasks or run high-end programs. If you want to buy one, first check out all the important apps in the Chrome store.
