Kochi's startup village gets 1 Gbps Internet, makes us jealous

While the rest of us struggle to download stuff from the Internet, founders at Kochi's startup village will be downloding stuff in nanoseconds (not really!) with their new 1 Gbps Internet lines. Kochi's become the second city in the world after Kansas City, USA to get 1 Gbps fiber line (correct us). Kochi is a gateway to two submarine fiber cables and that offers a strategic advantage to Kochi in getting ultra-fast Internet connection. The line was formally inaugurated by Kerala's Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy just a few days ago on November 17.

The Startup-Village at Kerala is a big-scale incubator that aims to host about 1000 product companies in the Internet and Telecommunication domain. We hope that the students who're becoming a part of the startup-village will make the best use of the line and will follow some fair usage policies.

Other should't be disheartened. The top cities in India will receive their own 1Gbps lines soon. There are companies working on offering #-Link-Snipped-#.
