Back in May, Jolla's team told us that its smartphone will be "Jolla's Sailfish OS Running Smartphone Is Android App Compliant". They shared that some Android apps can be run with the help of Myriad's Alien Dalvik software without any alteration. Thus, the new Jolla smartphone is now compatible with 85,000 Android apps available on Google Play Store. Jolla also sports changeable smart covers, and includes app for Nokia's HERE maps covering 180 countries. Available in 9 different, vibrant colors, the Jolla smartphone will first launch in Finland (Nokia's homeland) on wednesday and then in 135 other countries at a price of 399 euros (approx. Rs. 33,700).
"The launch does not mark the end to product development, it goes on in cooperation with the consumers," Jolla CEO Tomi Pienimaki said. It is for sure that Jolla has entered a vastly competitive market and will take time to make its presence felt. But it is already creating raves.
