James Stumpf Designs Improved Levitatr Bluetooth Device

Designer James Stumpf has recently designed Levitatr’s Bluetooth keyboard. It is a LED based device, which has LED illuminated keyboard keys that rise up from the surface level and illuminate when activated and would lower back to its original surface level when not in use. The reason behind the development of this design was the annoyance that occurred while accounting number of typing errors that are made when using a normal iPad. This is a wireless peripheral device.

The lifting mechanism for the keys is strong, supports the keys uniformly, and fits in a total space of 6mm when the keys rise by 2.2 mm there by to achieve a total exterior dimension of 9.8 mm. There are two models that are basically considered currently. The first mechanism permits LED lights to go through laser dots to make every alphabet, while the other mechanism makes use of a clear key top and the screen develops it with minute dots left unprinted from the underside black for key lettering. There are five hot keys, electrical Bluetooth connectivity key and power buttons that are placed on the upper right side of the keyboard. Instead of four consumable AAA sized batteries used as a power source in the earlier models, the Levitatr’s model uses rechargeable Lithium – Ion battery, which helped to reduce its size from initial 12.5 mm thick to present 9.8 mm thick. The battery can work continuously for around 25 hours, and 15 days of standby between charges. The keys, the upper face, and the bottom cover are made up to polycarbonate plastic.
This device will be priced at US $ 99 and will begin its retail sale from January or February next year.
