A Press Conference was called at the ISRO headquarters, addressing which, Radhakrishnan made it publicly known that a new Chairman and Managing Director, a full time post, would be appointed to Antrix. "The selected person will be announced in two weeks time. The post will be autonomous and no longer be in intermediate mode. Approval is expected anytime now," he said.

Only full time experienced members will be hired by the government, while part-timers will be ignored, as far as Antrix is concerned. A new panel will negotiate interactions between Isro and Antrix, the Insat Co-ordination committee will adhere to transponder locations, and all the affected improvements will be scrutinized by the panel. It is even decided that an annual review of Antrix will be undertaken.
