iPhone 5 Is iPhone 4S - Features, Specs & What's New?
Apple has just launched the latest iPhone - The iPhone 5. While we're missing Steve Jobs and his 'awesome' presentations, Tim Cook took over the stage at a small room called 'The Town Hall' at Apple HQ and introduced the new iPhone. We know like all of us, you've been waiting for the iPhone 5 for a long time. So here's an overview of the new iPhone 5 and all the new features it offers. Apple's just revealed that they are calling the next version of iPhone as iPhone 4S and not iPhone 5 as we earlier thought. The phone has A5 chip and it's about 7 times faster than earlier iphone (aka iPhone 4). Plus there's Retina Display which is quite awesome. iPhone 4S ships with dual core A5 processor which makes everything move really fast. Apple's packed dual core graphics in the new phone to make gaming experience really awesome. Apple demoed couple of shots from latest games and says the experience is better than what the gaming consoles offer.

iPhone 4S, Not iPhone 5 - Revealed!
The battery life has been improved. Apple claimed that the iPhone 4S will offer 8 hours of 3G talk time and about 14 hours of 2G talk time. One of the most striking features of iPhone 4s is that it's both GSM + CDMA! Plus the phone now offers about 14 Mbps of download speed.
Apple's engineering team has worked hard to get an all new camera on the iPhone 4S. The phone has 8MP camera that operates at 3264 x 2448. It's said to be 33% times faster than camera in earlier iPhone. CMOS backside illuminated sensor — gets 73% more light than the iPhone 4 sensor. Apple said that the camera has 5 lens system and f2.4 to let more light in. Apple even compared the camera performance with other leading phones like Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy SII. It looks like iPhone 4S camera is really quick as compared to competitors. Of course, the camera is capable of recording 1080p videos! Full HD videos are second to none. It offers real time video image stabilization and temporal noise reduction.
How nice it would be if humans could talk to their electronic devices? iPhone 4S has exciting voice features. The intelligent Assistant "Siri" gets all the word done if you just 'tell' it what to do. If you ask it "What's the weather like today?" the assistant will respond by displaying the correct stuff on your screen. If you tell Siri to "Wake me up tomorrow at 6 AM", it will set the alarm at 6 AM for the next day. Quite an impressive technology! Siri can help you find restaurant information if you just ask her to find the list of restaurants around and even read your text messages or emails to you. Siri works fine with built in apps and can be used for dictation. It understands English, German and French languages.
iPhone 4S Price:
Black and white versions 16GB: $199, 32GB for $299, 64GB for $399. Pre-order begins on October 7 and shipping begins on October 14. The Sprint folks will get it first. No word on T-Mobile yet.
In a nutshell, the iPhone 4S offers A5, new antenna system, new optics, HD video, and Siri - your personal assistant. Plus Apple, for the first time has introduced a 64GB iPhone! My only disappointment is that Apple didn't offer a bigger screen size, maybe they are keeping it for iPhone 5.
