Intex unveils ELYT-e1 smartphone with 4G VoLTE, 8MP camera, fingerprint sensor at Rs 6,999

Indian consumer electronics manufacturer Intex Technologies has added a new smartphone to its budget category with the launch of Intex ELYT-e1. It is the first smartphone to feature in the Intex's ELYT series and comes with support for 4G VoLTE at a price tag of Rs 6,999. As of now, the smartphone is listed on the company's official website but there is no information about its availability.

The Intex ELYT-e1 sports a 5-inch IPS Oncell HD (1280×720 pixels) display which is gently curved and offers a pixel density of 294ppi that promises to appease the user's senses. In terms of design, it gets a brushed metal finished plastic removable back cover, volume rockers along with the power button at its right edge and at the back there is the square-shaped camera along with a fingerprint sensor for unlocking the device. The handset measures 142.4 x 71.5 x 8.7mm and weighs 145 gm.

Under the hood, there is the one-year-old Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 chipset with the CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and the Adreno 306 GPU at 400MHz. It is supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is further expandable by up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the photography department, there is an 8-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with 1080p @30fps video recording capabilities and an 8-megapixel fixed focus front camera for selfies. Both the camera setups are accompanied by a LED flash for better low-light photo and video recording experience.

The Intex ELYT-e1 is fuelled by a 2200 mAh Li-polymer battery which promises a talk time of up to 5.5 hours and a standby up to 220 hours.
On the connectivity front, the phone houses dual SIM with 4G VoLTE, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, FM radio, microUSB port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The smartphone will run Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will come loaded with various VAS apps like Intex My Wallet, GamePlay, Game Store, LFTY and Vdio Play.
