Internal Mapping of College

Project Abstract / Summary : This is an android application based on Augmented Reality which provides you a 3D map of our college same as google map but with internal mapping so user can find any class or office by its number or professor's name.

What is Augmented Reality?
Augmented reality means replace the real world with the simulated one(Virtual world).It is the concept of 'Google Glass'.

How does it work?
The application detect a image target(tracker) with the help of mobile rear camera and project the 3D model of concept according to that tracker defined by developer which we can see only by mobile screen.
These trackers can be loaded into the local database(Phone memory) or cloud database provided by Qualcomm company but, for local database there is a limitation on number of trackers around 100. so, we use a cloud database for our android application.
The 3D models are called at execution time from the database which stored in device memory.
User can see the 3D models if and only if the tracker is in the range of mobile rear camera.
The application selects the 3D model according to the tracker which is already defined by developer.
The user can also select his/her choice tracker to view the model but the tracker should be graphically complex.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : We are habituated to use google map to go anywhere. but google map only provides a root to that institute or complex but how can we find our root in that institute campus or in complex. so it is very useful to find a store or office in complex or institute respectively.
