We all knew about Intel's quest of making its mark in the hot tablet market. Now Intel is offering more information on the future of its tablets, which will be powered by its processor and Microsoft's Windows 8 OS. It is expected that the tablets will feature Intel's latest Clover Trail dual-core mobile processor capable of Burst Mode for a boost in performance and Hyperthreading allowing the processor to behave like a quad-core chip.

Some of the other features revealed during the Intel Developer Forum event at Beijing are 3G/4G LTE support, NFC and Wi-Fi Direct as other connectivity option and a battery life of more than 9 hours. The tablets are expected to be available in two different variants of 10-inch and 11-inch, out of which the larger one will be having a physical keyboard. Competing with Apple's iPad, Intel's tablets will be having a thickness of less than 9mm with a weight not exceeding 1.5 pounds.

From all the above feature list it is quite clear that Intel is targeting to compete against the leader in tablet market today, i.e. Apple. We can expect the tablets to be released in the later part of the year after Windows 8 is launched commercially.
