okay, this is an study that combines controllers, automation, process control, instrumentation and many more..

Basic instrumentation and control eng is a study about the process control industry..
there are lot to explain.. read a post on <a href="https://measureprocess.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-is-instrumentation-and-control.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ideas</a>

dude,

am new to ths forum ..so the formal literature used mite be unfamiliar to me ..\\jokes apart ..instrumentation isa branch dealin with the m/mnt control and anlaysis of various parameters namely pressure ,temp, force , flow, velocity, humidity , moisture, .....

relative mmmt of all these r feasible ..altogethr a superb branch ..takes its origin from mech +electronics...

much opportunities ..both lucrative and creative r found in abundance.....

feel freeto contact ...

Hi....
This is a branch of engg.. in which measurement and controlling is analyised. Here different sensors and engineering in process industry is studied. In one statement it is a combination of electronics ,some part of computer, some subjects of biomedical etc.

Basically instrumentation engineers deal with instruments. Instruments that make measurements, devices that convert physical quantities like pressure, flow etc to measurable quantites like current or voltage, instruments that measure and manipulate current and voltage signals.

We measure to initite control. Control engineering seeks to maintain a process o/p or desired process variable at a particular set point state or value within a stipulated amount of time with tolerable error.

It's an indispensable engineering field but originally instrumentation was a part of electrical engineering. As you might have noticed most Engineering institutions of the world do not have a seperate Instrumentation dept, it is a part of electrical engineering. Although it is true that from the modern perspective, electronics and electronic processing circuitry form an important part of Signal processing, which is also fundamental to the study of Instrumentation.

Good Luck

Hello,
Instrumentation is a very broad area in the sense that it has an interdisciplinary character. There is a proliferation of a variety of Instrumentation systems for a variety of purpose.
There is hardly any area of Engineering, Science and Technology where Instrumentation in one form or the other is not needed. As a certain process is becoming more and more automated, the need for a closer monitoring of inputs and responses become more obligatory and the instruments at the component and sub - system levels tend to become more and more integrated. Full cognizance has been taken of this situation while planning instruction in this area. Students do intensive use of microprocessors and Computers to understand the hardware and software aspect of Intelligent Instrumentation.
Started in 1989, this rather young division offers many courses in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering also apart from a variety of courses from Instrumentation Technology, modern control theory, Biomedical Instrumentation, Robotics, Industrial Electronics, Computer Controlled Instrumentation, Artificial Intelligence etc.

You will also be able to work in many fields that require IC engineers, from the petrochemical, oil&gas to marine/shipping industries.

Just to share.

Instrumentation and control is an important field which control controls the parameters temperature, pressure, viscosity, flow, level etc.we have to measure and control the above parameters.we have to study part of electronics, mechanical, electrical(not much). The main advantage is, this branch have wide application in different fields. Its interesting friend.

hey this branch basically deals with instruments !!! its all about how instruments work and how to control a specific plant or in simple language a process using different types of instruments..
u also learn automation in industries using instruments attached with computers..!! 😛
if any doubts u can ask again..
