  • This spring, Apple introduced a new technology for the trackpads called as Forced-touch. This new type of trackpad is only available in the 2015 MacBook Pro and the all new MacBook. Now, developers are making use of these forced touch trackpads to enhance their app experience. The folks over at TenOne Design firm have upgraded their app and became the first company who took the advantage of this new technology introduced by Apple. Let's find out what they have done to improve the user experience.

TenOne Design has developed an app dubbed as Inklet which helps designers and digital artists to sketch with stylus using the MacBook’s trackpad. In short, the Inklet turns your Macbook’s trackpad into a pen tablet. The new update of this app has introduced a new functionality as pressure sensitivity which is generally available in a full size pen tablet. The forced touch trackpad can sense pressure put by user and Inklet simply uses the same idea to implement pressure sensitivity.

Moving to the user point of view, users can use stylus or even their fingers to draw. While using the stylus user’s palm is the biggest problem. However, Inklet has implemented advanced algorithm that eliminates the problem of unwanted touches made by the palm of the user. This app works for all the major design tools like Photoshop, Sketch, Acorn etc. App’s demo version is available for free and Pro version costs 25$. Let us know what are your views on Inklet’s new update through your comments.
