Indian software / IT engineers, you may now officially quit your job saying you are underpaid. We know protesting your underpaid status by wearing "Underpaid & Overworked" T-shirts in your office hasn't helped, but you can now officially throw the 'stats' at your boss. But do understand that though your boss makes twice as much you do, he/she is underpaid as well. According to the #-Link-Snipped-# report, Indian Software / IT companies are among the worst 10 paymasters in the software industry. The report says that while the mid to senior level staff in Indian IT companies get a package of Rs. 21.5 lakh (don't freak out if you're getting lesser than that) their counterparts in Switzerland make about Rs. 93 lakh per annum. The study was conducted by MyHiringClub.com - a global recruitment services provider involving software / IT engineers with about 4 years of experience and above. About 6000 companies across 40 countries were studied and the companies in western Europe were found to be the best paymasters.

But don't be sad yet. If you are a software project manager in India, you're doing better than your counterparts in China who make about $100 lesser than you, on average. There are countries where the IT managers make significantly lesser than you do and the list includes Bulgaria, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia. If you want to vent out frustration, we've a comments system below. Go grab a cup of coffee and 'type it out'.
