Indian Angel Network: Build Your Finance Basics (December 27, 2010: 3-7 PM)

IAN Incubator has initiated a series of workshops for entrepreneurs across different cities to educate aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups on challenges faced by them and help them in tackling these challenges better. 'Build your financial basics' will educate start-ups, entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs & students from an investor perspective on establishing financial discipline & accountability of a startup business, and how this discipline later helps in determining the valuation at the time of fund raising.

Speakers

Mr. Rahul Khandelwal, Lumis Partners :

Rahul has significant experience in research & analysis, valuation of companies, financial modeling, due diligence, legal structuring, accounting & auditing, taxation and other legal & statutory practices. He would talk about accounting basics for start-ups, concepts like cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, maintaining books of accounts etc. He would also talk about developing an organized financial system, which would enable collection, monitoring and retrieval of financial information. Mr. Mukul Singhal, SAIF Partners : Mukul focuses on early stage investments at SAIF Partners. His interests lie in high growth sectors like Internet, Mobile VAS, Enterprise Products, Retail and Media. Mukul is an active participant in the entrepreneurial ecosystem for counseling start ups about their fund raising and strategy.

Mukul would introduce the concept of fund raising for start-ups and throw some light on evaluation of early stage ventures in the pre money & post money phase from a venture capitalist perspective.
