Improve Power Quality With LV Accusine Active Harmonic Filters
As we all know non linear loads are the loads in which the current drawn by the gadget is is not similar to the voltage waveform. These distorted waveforms are called as harmonics and are dangerous to the electrical distribution system. Thus, to make the system harmonic free we use harmonic filters viz. active and passive. Harmonic mitigation helps in financial savings.
The lifetime of single phase machines increases by 32% that of 3 phase by 18% and of transformers by 5%. Now lets see how active filters work.
The control scheme adopted by this filter is “Full Spectrum Cancellation”. The system acquires the current sample and removes the fundamental frequency component. Now the left over portion is the harmonic waveforms. The controller then starts injecting the correcting waveforms. These waveforms nullify all the non-fundamental components thereby reducing harmonics.
At times the accusine filter also injects reactive current to improve the power factor. Sometimes they also compensate for the load voltage fluctuations thus stabilizing the system.
It has the following features:
1. Correction Capacity: 50, 100, 300 amperes as per requirement.
2. Voltage: 208-480V AC. 3 phase (3 wire or 4 wire)
3. Harmonic Compensation: 2nd to 50th including inter harmonics.
4. Reactive Compensation: power factor correction, cos ? to near unity, selectable set point.
5. Parallel Capacity Installation: up to 10 units.
6. HMI: Graphic Display with touch screen control.
7. 1 LED indicator for power on
8. 96 mm QVGA screen.
9. Any type of current waveform can be displayed.
10. Total remote controlled.
Some typical applications are in steel industry, paper mills, HVAC , lifts, wind and solar farms etc. VAR compensation applications are: arc welders, rock crushers, arc furnaces, roller coasters etc. So are you ready to economize your factory setup?
