Anyone here applying for IES 2015 examination? Can we share details and discuss about exam preparation?

Thank you mam for the great guideline but I have a query about the form filling procedure for the IES 2015, I have read all the details but the query is that if a person belongs to a SC category so he would not to be pay for the exam but, at one stage when you have to fill the challan no. and the registration no. to finish the procedure so what he will do because he have not to pay the amount so what should fill in the challan number box.

The Engineering Services Exam or ESE 2015 is an entrance exam to be taken by graduate engineers who want to work under the Government of India to manage a large segment of public sector economy such as - Power, Telecommunications, Railroads, Public works etc.

Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducts a competitive examination for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES) 2015.
The examination consists of a written examination followed by an interview for personality test.

The recruited candidates at IES 2015 will be eligible for following categories -

1. Civil Engineering

• Indian Railway Service of Engineers
• Indian Railway Stores Service
• Central Engineering Service
• Military Engineer Service (Building and Roads Cadre)
• Central Water Engineering

What is IES ESE 2015 examination date and schedule?

1. Start Date for IES 2015 Registration: 22nd March 2015
2. Last Date for IES Registration 2015: 21st April 2015
3. Date of ESE IES 2015 Exam: 20th June 2015( 3 Days exam)

What is the admission criteria of qualification needed for taking the exam?

• B.Tech/B.E or,passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India). or,
• Obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
• Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
• Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
• Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959

Age-limit: 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination.

What is IES 2015 Exam Application Fee?

Rs. 200 for - General/OBC candidates is Rs. 200
No Application fee for - SC, ST, PH and female candidates

Candidates can make payment through online mode or offline mode.
Online Payment Mode: Credit Card, Debit Card and Internet Banking.
Offline Payment Mode: E-Challan through any branch of SBI (State Bank of India)

How to apply online UPSC IES 2015 Application Form ?

1. Candidates need to scan their photograph and signature.
2. Now candidates should lo gin to UPSC website #-Link-Snipped-#
3. Fill up application form with all necessary details.
4. Check the all details carefully and press submit button.
5. Online application System will now generate the registration number.
6. Get the printout of the online challan and pay the fee to your nearest SBI bank.
7. Now visit the web portal again to finish the process.
8. Fill the challan number and registration number and press enter.
9. Take the print out of the system generated reference number/form for the future use.
10. That's it.

Yes. Candidates who hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree in either Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science branch from an recognized by UGC are eligible for IES Exam.

I am not sure if I understand your question correctly. You are asking about the IES Exam, right? Then what's the meaning of which exams are applicable?

Dear Mam,
I need ur valuable guidance on below points .... pl oblige:
1. I am in final year of B.Tech (CSE).
2.If i would be required to take / study the subjects of CE or ME or EE or ECE , for appearing and clicking the IES.
3. Being student of Comp Science , how i would be absorbed in IES posts / streams (as there are streams of CE,ME,EE,ECE in IES exam).
4. As i have to give my next 2 years to any one preparation between IES or IAS exams, what would be your suggestion ( keeping in view my subjects in BTech(CSE)). For IAS i will hv to study all arts subjects & for IES i shall (as i Understand) have to study subjects of CE or ME or EE or ECE.
5. If u suggest IAS then it's ok, & if u suggest me to go for IES--- which stream should i choose either CE or ME or EE or ECE.
6.Can u pl suggest sm V GOOD coaching institute for IES in India, Preferably North India.

Generally, Computer Science/IT/Computer Technology study some subjects in electronics & communication in their 4 year graduation course (This of course changes from university to university).

Therefore, if a CS/IT graduate candidate does not prefer to learn something completely new from scratch, I think Electronics & Telecommunication (ECE or ENTC whatever you call it) is the best choice for them.

Once you choose the electronics stream and pass the IES exam you will be eligible for jobs in many sectors including -

• Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers
• Indian Railway Stores Service
• Indian Ordnance Factories Service
• Indian Naval Armament Service
• Assistant Executive Engineer (in Ministry of Defence)
• Engineer in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation
• Assistant Naval Stores officer (in Indian Navy)
• Survey of India Service

Yep. The minimum Qualification for IES exam is Bachelor of Engineering or technology in any discipline from a recognized university.

when I was searching for the pay scale it was about 36k.
what I think is .. why all IITians & other people prefer IES even they can get a higher salary easily after completing the MTECH?
