    IC engine camshaft

The cams used to operate inlet and exhaust of IC engines are designed for which type of follower motion - SHM or constant acceleration/deceleration?

I think they are designed for constant acceleration/deceleration

Any problem if SHM motion is implemented?

It is a continuously evolving design. The ideal timing will depend on highly varying driving conditions. A lot of things like acceleration, torque, emission levels and fuel economy have to be considered. Camless designs are in development/improvement.
