Headquartered in Mumbai, the company iBall has a knack of naming its smartphones with the craziest titles. With a series of phones named Genius, Stallion, Baby Panther, Enigma, Frisbee, Ripple under its bag, you will agree that the new smartphone called "iBall Cobalt Oomph 4.7D" is no exception to its reputation. If you are wondering about the number 4.7D attached in the end, well, we believe it represents the smartphones screen size which is a 4.7 inch IPS HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution and an impressive 312 PPI pixel density. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with the promise of 5.0 Lollipop upgrade, the iBall Cobalt Oomph 4.7D comes in a 8.4 mm thick body adorned with a metallic back cover that gives it a premium look & feel. Even though the company has listed the phone on its official site, there's no word about its pricing or availability.
Having a Cortex A7 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor under its hood, the phone caters to the user's storage needs with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM (with division of 2GB - OS, 2GB - phone storage, 4 GB internal memory). As we take a look at the device's rear end, we find a 8 megapixel snapper with LED flash located on the top and a better than average 5 megapixel camera on the front with support for video calling.
A 1850 mAh battery resides inside the Cobalt Oomph and we aren't sure if users will find it sufficient for their needs. The connectivity is taken care of with support for Bluetooth tethering, USB tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot, 3G HSPA+, USB Internet, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS & A-GPS. The smartphone accommodates 2 SIM cards and FM Radio too. Among several advanced features, the prime ones that caught our eye are gesture recognition, HotKnot feature, Auto Call recording feature and Flip to Mute.
With that we come to the end of the feature highlighted about the iBall Cobalt Oomph smartphone. We can't yet give a verdict as to whether the phone has the *oomph factor* till we know the phone's pricing. If all these features are packed under a price tag of Rs. 5000- Rs. 7000, we believe people would love to give it a try.
