    is it possible to design an RCC structure in which the reinforcement rods are replaced by I-sections in beams and columns?????? please give me suggestions... what i mean is... An usual RCC beam or column in which i place an I-section instead of the TMT rods... possible?

    Dear Mr.Anand,

    If we are using I member as column, then what is the need of doing concrete around the section. it helps the aesthetic only. because the I member can take the buckling, bending, deformation etc.
    Some where i had seen, people are using Circular hollow section as column and they kept reinforcement and concrete inside the section.
