Hyundai Launches Upgraded Sonata Turbo

In breaking news today, Hyundai motor Co. announced the launch of its upgraded Sonata turbo model. The new model is attributed with latest technology to boost its performance and gain a competitive edge over its rival brands and also to boost its sales through consumer satisfaction. Its earlier version had already discarded a V6 engine.

The upgraded version has a specially designed Theta II turbo engine. The 'theta' series initially launched in 2004 is a four cylinder engine with all Aluminum body. The 2 liter engine is capable of producing a torque of 37.2 Kg-m and a power of 271Hp. Another notable feature of the Theta series is its Metaldyne supplied cassette-type balance shaft module with a two stage built in oil pump. However certain features like its 18 inch alloy wheels remains the same. Sonata turbo now features an improved rear view with some good LED lighting system.

The price tag associated with the luxury model of Hyundai's midsized family car is $26,960, roughly $27000 while the price of its super luxury variant is expected to be around $29.6 million. With the announcement of the upgraded version, Kia motors a sister company of Hyundai said that the new theta II engine will be placed on its K5 turbo Gasoline Direct Injection.

In the performance rating, of Hyundai's new Sonata Turbo, a 35% rise in its power was noted. Also, as compared to the current 2.4 liter engine a 46% rise in horse power was also observed. Also a slight improvement in its mileage up to 13 Kilometers per liter was noticed.

Truly speaking, the upgrade has added new features like LED cabin lamps, and automatic defogging system. The use of anti bacterial seating material adds to its positive points. Sonata has employed improved air ingestion system. Such features also automatically reduce the air emissions from the automobile exhaust.

Moreover Kia's models "Prestige" and "Noblesse" are also expected to be launched around the same time as the new sonata. Together, it appears that Hyundai has made concrete plans to take over the market. The price of Prestige and Noblesse is $28.15 million and $29.45 million respectively. Even the price of all its models along with the technology employed by the Korean automaker seems competitive.
