Huawei’s P9 Lite Now Official, Launched In Germany

Huawei's new P9 Lite is a watered down version of P9; available at a cheaper price skipping out the dual-Leica (dual lens) camera setup. The smartphone will be available in Germany at at €299 (roughly Rs 22,000). It works with an octa-core processor called Kirin 650 (4 x 2.0 GHz, 4 x 1.7 GHz) and has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. With a display size of 5.2 inches (HD 423ppi pixel density) the device is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.

P9 Lite runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion 4.1 UI on top. On photography front, it comes equipped with a 13 MP rear camera along with an 8 MP front facing snapper. Sporting a fingerprint scanner it also includes connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G and microUSB. The smartphone supports LTE Cat. 6. It will be commercially available in Black, Gold and White variants in both the single-SIM and dual-SIM versions from the beginning of May.

The new P9 Lite supports LTE network and is remarkedly cheaper than P9 and P9 Plus. Both P9 and P9 plus sport dual lens camera setup of two 12-megapixel sensors, with one capturing light in colour, and the other in monochrome that combined contrast, depth, and laser autofocus system. The system was touted to provide sharp, detailed shots in both good light and low light conditions.

The launch was reported by a German website Teltarif. However there is no word yet whether the Huawei P9 Lite will be launched in markets other than Europe.
