  • Huawei has now announced the launch of three new devices at the pre-MWC event in Barcelona. Out of the three, two are tablets, the MediaPad M1 and the MediaPad X1, whereas the third is a smartphone, Ascend G6. These devices will be released onto selected market in the month of April.

    Lets begin with the smarphone. The Ascend G6 comes with a metal body with a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and supports internet speeds up to 150 Mbps on a 4G network. It is 7.85mm slim and weighs 115gms. The Ascend G6 features a 8-megapixel rear camera and an impressive 5-megapixel front camera with an 88-degree wide angle lens. The Ascend G6 will be released in black with grey or gold and a white version with pink or gold highlights.

    The MediaPad M1, on the other hand, flaunts an 8-inch display IPS (1,280×800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. It also includes a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1-megapixel front camera and front-facing speakers. The MediaPad M1 comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean along with the Emotion UI. This tablet has a SIM card slot for 4G/LTE networks, thus supporting fast downloading speeds. The tablet can also make and receive calls and also send text messages like a smartphone. The price on this is 299 EUR.

    With just 239g in weight and 103.9mm wide, the MediaPad X1 is considered to be one of the lightest and narrowest tablets in its class. Even though being light in weight, it still manages to pack a 5,000mAh battery and also a 1,920 x 1,200 LPTS display. It also has a 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU, a Mali-450 MP4 GPU and 2GB RAM. the tablet packs a 5000mAh battery, which can deliver up to 21 days of standby time. The MediaPad X1 is priced at 399 EUR.
