HTC seems to be on spree of launching HTC Desire phones. After launching the HTC Desire 816G [Upgraded] Dual SIM Smartphone Launched In India At Rs. 19,990 and HTC Desire 826: Release Date And Pricing Details Now Available last month, HTC has now gone ahead and unveiled the HTC Desire 626. The much talked about and speculated phone was quietly put up along with its specs on the official Taiwanese HTC website. However at the time that it was put up the phone was shown âout of stockâ on the website.
Now, letâs go straight to the specs of the device. Desire 626 will have a 5 inch HD display of resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It will run on 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and will have 1GB RAM. Naturally, the phone is Android based but the version of the Android is still unspecified on the website. The phone will come with dual front facing speakers but without the BoomSound feature as it was speculated. It will have a single (nano) sim although if rumours are to be believed, then the company might also release a dual sim variant of the same.
It will have 16GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128GB using microSD cards. If you are person who loves to click pictures on their phone (selfie or otherwise) then this phone is surely for you. It will have a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and 5 MP front camera. Both the rear and front cameras will have BSI sensors, so it is expected that phone will click decent pictures even in low-light conditions. The additional features that the rear camera will possess is panorama, geo-tagging, scene detection, smile detection and HDR options.
In the connectivity department too, the phone has pretty good features. One of the selling points for the phone is that it will have 4G LTE support. Besides that, it offers all the usual connectivity options youâd expect from such a phone. It will be Wi-Fi enabled, will support 3G, and have Bluetooth and FM connectivity options. With its 2000 mAh battery, it is expected to provide 760 hours of standby time and 30 hours of talktime.
The phone will cost NT$ 5990 (Rs 11,800 approx.) and is expected to hit the shelves by the end of February, however there is no news of global launch out just yet. Unless it comes with the Android Lollipop update, the phone might find stiff competition in a market dominated by the likes of Moto G (2nd generation).
