HTC Bringing Out Facebook Phone Next Year!

Facebook phone ‘coming next year’ from HTC are all afloat on the blogosphere claiming that Facebook is launching its own official phone, in collaboration with HTC. The social networking giant has contradicted reports earlier which stated that it was developing a phone, but it never ruled out the possibility that a third party may manufacture the phone for it.

AllthingsD suggested that a device called Buffy will function on a improved version of Google Android, reflecting the manner of Amazon that developed the Kindle Fire tablet computer. Facebook has to a great extent pulled off its services to corroborate HTML5 as an application platform. Facebook Chief Technology Officer Bret Taylor is heading this project of developing the phone, which will be based on the earlier 'Facebook Phones' developed with a committed button to access Facebook. It seems like as an appealing development as most of the people nowadays are getting first hand experience of internet through mobiles. To maintain its growth, Facebook needs to ascertain that it has a strong foothold in the market with rivals like Google and Apple already ruling the roost. It is planning to bring out Facebook Credits scheme for mobile payments.

Presently, Facebook boasts of over 350 million active mobile users and is the most sought after app in all the operating systems. HTC denied to add any fuel to rumors, maintaining a silent stand. Now only time will tell whether it is indeed a rumor or such a thing may even materialize.
