HP 8 1401 Android Tablet Is Here At $170 - Specs At Glance

American Multinational Information Technology Company, Hewlett-Packard (HP) has rolled out a new low-price Android tablet in their Android device lineup with HP 8 1401. This new product of HP, according to its specifications, can be judged as an entry level tablet. It is available at a price of $169.99. You can note here that, in the low end tablet range, HP offers HP Slate 7 Plus at $149.99.

Looking at the various features of HP8 1401 - this tablet packs 1 GHz AllWinner A31s quad core processor, paired with 1GB DDR3 SDRAM. It also offers 16 GB internal storage with an option of expandable memory upto 32GB, through microSD. An IPS display of 7.85” is the key feature of this tablet, that has a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution with multi-touch support. The IPS display makes sure that the images stay sharp at almost any angle. HP8 runs an older Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed and offers premium HP services for one month from purchasing for free.

In wireless section, HP8 brings support for WiFi b/g/n. According to the specs list on the company’s official website, there is no mention of Bluetooth. This tablet is powered by a 3800 mAH lithium polymer battery packed inside a slim body having thickness of 7.95mm. HP 8 also has a 2 MP fixed focus rear camera and 0.3 MP front facing camera. Other than these, basic features such as accelerometer, gyroscope and microUSB are available with this tablet.

HP is trying its hand at the hot and bubbling tablet world, by bringing a low price tablet in market. If you have low budget for buying a tablet, HP 8 is a good deal due to its screen size and quality. Otherwise, this tablet has no special features that one would find attractive.
