How well Ms goes with MBA?????????

Hello guys
M quite new or rather irregular wid Ce, but wheneve i get any doubi..i come to discuss wid u all..
so here s d doubi i got...
how well ms goes wid mba??..I have been hearing, in some news paps, tht doin mba after ms is quite gud as it gives u a knowlge in yer own field to quite a deep level and then u can move into mba to work in sam field?..

However I am not sure with this. It may be seen as wasting of your ms if u go to mba,,,..however in long run its always better to have a ms apart from mba..,,.>>??

what do you say ??

    cshekar,

First answer this question - What do you want to do in your life?

This question is the first question that everyone should ask to himself/herself. Everything else will follow. Waiting for your answer.

best career i cud make with whatever I have got now.
To be in more detial I would like to make my profile unique in feasible ways.
Ultimately I am definetly interested in doin my MBA, but for mba one has to have the experiance, I mean not only on paper but some real experiance to develop your graphs.

Now for that what is to be done? working the sw field(wwhch I am doin) at the same level for a long time would limit ones profile monotones, instead doin something more before an mba that will be real valuable will be quite usefull, I belive.

    so what should one do?

    Hi cShekhar,

I actually had a classmate with a similar predicament. MS from USC(CS), and then 2 yrs of workex then to do an MBA from IIMI. The guy went to hop jobs from CSC to Headstrong to some 3 other firms. Last thing I heard he was working with Techspan.

If you really want to add some more pizazz to your profile, then try working in different domains, that should be possible. How about learning about new technologies, etc.

Doing an MBA to add more overtures to your profile is not an answer you would want to give in an interview, trust me. At the same time, as an MS guy, you would maybe want your profile to be unique. As an MBA you would want your profile to be as general as possible (allows for seamless job hops you see ๐Ÿ˜€ ).

So which is it, you want to be a specialist and stick with the MS, or you want to loose your speciality and be an MBA? Clear choice, Speciality Vs. Generalism. Your call.

    Yes cshekhar,

Totally agree with kidakaka and just to simplify it I would say, think if you really want to switch from technical to management..?? Of course we have MBA in IT as well but if you wish to short circuit your techie skills and opt for MBA then the altimate choice lies upon you as Bggy said., "Ask yourself what you really want??"
And yes though as you say that your not so regular with CE, please follow the CE rules.. NO SLANG PLEASE!!! Use proper English. For more details follow Biggy's signature link.

    Regards,
    Nachi.

    Sorry for the slang.

Yes I do agree, for MBA, making the profile as general as possible is good. However doing an ms(not in CS //EE) prior an mba will definetly make ones profile more generalised as well as unique, doesnt it?

But as kidakaka said, it will not be so easy after MS > Jobs >MBA. One of my friend is doing the same thing. He got a job now after his ms and mostly he is working on his Gmat, I am not sure though!

So it means ms and mba can'nt go together.. ๐Ÿ˜”..!
But ultimately we cannt predict what is perfect or not. I may fix in certain profiles or may fail in others..
