• If you are a Jio user, there is a hundred percent chance that you love Jio apps. Your favourites must be JioTV and JioCinema. Here is the problem though, you can only run those apps on your smartphone and it does not allow you to mirror that content to a bigger screen. Thankfully there is a workaround for this situation.

Jio has recently and very quietly launched web versions of JioTV and JioCinema. You can access these services from these links:

    JioTV: #-Link-Snipped-#

    JioCinema: JioCinema

You can use your JioID to login to these websites. You have to note here that you should use your Email as the JioID. If that is not working you can Sign in using your Jio number via OTP. Currently the JioTV website has been taken down for maintenance and we have a guess as to why. The JioTV website was working on other internet connections apart from Jio’s which is strictly forbidden for the mobile apps. We tested the JioTV app using BSNL broadband and it was working last night. The JioTV website is expected to be online later. The JioCinema website is online and you can watch the content of your choice using any connection you want.

If this Reliance JioTV Web Version Pulled Down Due to 'Technical Litigation' Issues | TelecomTalk is to be believed the JioTV website has been taken down due to technical litigation issues. It seems there is no exact information when the website will return. While Jio is tight-lipped about the reasons behind the shutdown, we can make some educated guesses to as why. Firstly, the website was running on any internet connection and not just Jio’s, This defeats Jio’s purpose of its network. Secondly, streaming live channels requires permission from the channels themselves and a separate licence. Finally, it would have faced strong criticism from networks like Sony, Zee and Star which have services like SonyLIV, DittoTV and Hotstar for streaming their channels online.

I am waiting for JioTV because I will then be able to get rid of the Tata Sky connection. I already have the Chromecast.
