    How to remove the unread mails counter on the app icon in Android Lollipop?
    I am really annoyed to see that every time.

    P.S.I have a Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 model.

    You have left out the unread emails.
    1. Go to web Gmail.com.
    2. Search is:unread
    3. It will list out all your email unread emails in inbox
    4. Click on More --> Mark All As Read.
    5. If you more than 100 unread emails. Repeat steps 2 to 4 ☕
    6. Let the gmail app sync to sever.
