How to get into development or testing field?

Dear Sir,
I am a 2014 Batch pass out in Electrical & Electronics Discipline. I have a keen interest in programming and love to code. I have participated in many coding competitions and have developed a few projects & I want to join IT field but the problem is that I have good command over C++ only. I am presently working as a Project Engineer in Electrical Field. What else do I need to do to get into either development or testing field?
