How does synchronous CDMA and asynchronous CDMA work?

It's method for accessing communication channel like If you're calling someone the communication channel isn't exclusively being used between you which is being done by Multiplexing.Are you sure? This action cannot be undone. -

Mmm yeah thanks.....CDMA a multiple access technique, but i still dont understand synchronous and asynchronous CDMA (e.g the difference between them, and where and when we use the latter compared to the former)....Thank you.Are you sure? This action cannot be undone. -
