Honda Amaze - that's the name you've been waiting for. Honda's unveiled the name of the diesel powered car to be launched in India & Thailand in the next financial year (13-14). We learn that Honda Amaze will be launched in both Diesel and Petrol variants and more details on the car will be officially declared on November 23 at an event in Thailand. We've no confirmed update on the possible month of launch next year.

In India, Honda Amaze will be positioned in the entry-level Sedan segment. We're guessing that Honda will price this car to compete with Tata Indigo, which is one of the top selling car from Tata. That means we may expect Amaze to be priced between Rs. 6-9 lakh. Honda says that their car is going to address the diversifying needs of the consumers in Asian markets. The competition in Asia, especially in India is getting fierce and so far, Honda's remained a leading player with their petrol powered cars.

According to CarDekho, the name 'Amaze' comes from the product development philosophy Honda's engineers have adopted to design the car to suit Asian customer's needs. Honda wants to amaze their customers in every possible way through most of the aspects of this sedan. We hope that Honda folks will get the fuel efficiency and the price point right - because those have traditionally been the most desired features by Indian customers.

We're keeping an eye on the news and will keep you updated. Posted in: #Coffee Room
