Hi, Recommend books for novice in electrical engineering

Hi guys. First I would like to say I do not have a degree in any thing. I am currently a student interested in becoming an electrical engineer. I am very interested and I have built a few small projects with "breadboards" I think my dad called them.(my dad works in high tech so I get access to stuff like that) Any way my question is: Do you have any advice for some one who is interested in electrical engineering. Eg. good books to read, projects to try, any thing like that.

- thanks alot to all answers.
-Josh

Welcome to CE Josh. Your thread is being moved to Electrical engineering section.

Yep, breadboard is the right name. For projects, go through following section: #-Link-Snipped-#

Could you share the projects you've built on your own so far? We can then recommend more projects that you can try.

First of all sorry Big K for posting in the wrong section. Some of the projects I have done are: A buzer and led light timer, an alarm clock, and some toying around with a phone circut. (I was trying to substitute the circut that turns on the buzer with a circut that turns on an ipod docking station.)

I have collected a few freeware books on my electric-portal #-Link-Snipped-# Try to find some books for beginners and electrical projects.

    Hope I helped!
